Since 2017 S.I.L.C.A. S.p.A. has expanded its business by launching an export project to China. The goal that S.I.L.C.A. S.p.A. arises through the realization of this project is to exploit its logistical skills to spread the products of the Italian food tradition in China.

Project China

S.I.L.C.A. S.p.A.'s export to China project is aimed at Italian food and wine companies by offering them to export their products to the Chinese market. The aim of the project is to bring, through a well-structured system, the products of the Italian food tradition to the Chinese final consumer.

 S.I.L.C.A. S.p.A. is proposed as a logistics platform for the China project in Italy and as guarantor of the quality control of the exported products. Additionally, through its Chinese counterpart, Laowaicang Internatonal Trading Co. Ltd., S.I.L.C.A. S.p.A. manages to ensure: the selection of the most suitable products for the needs of Chinese consumers; the efficiency and correct execution of the entire export and import process; an on-site operational base in Hangzhou, Zhejiang not far from Shanghai; an adequate sales and distribution network starting from the logistics bases of Hangzhou, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Guangzhou.

Laowaicang

Laowaicang is a trading company specialized in the trade of Italian agri-food products in China. "Laowai - Cang" in Chinese literally means "warehouse of foreigners" which summarizes the long-term vision of S.I.L.C.A. S.p.A. in China; to create a logistics center for Italian and foreign producers from which they can spread their food and wine products throughout the country of the dragon. 

Laowaicang is located in Hangzhou, not far from Shanghai. It selects the food and wine products corresponding to the needs of Chinese consumers, and takes care of the entire import process.

From its warehouses in Hangzhou, Shanghai and Guangzhou, Laowaicang, with its team of expert sellers from the various Chinese regions and from the world’s largest retailers, such as Retail and Ho.Re.Ca. Our team markets the products throughout China, through various distribution channels, from offline sales outlets, to retail chains, to online sales channels where the Laowaicang site relies on the most used web platforms in China: Alibaba, TMall, TaoBao, Yihaodian, Amazon.cn. Laowaicang therefore represents the bridge through which the Italian producers, belonging to the S.I.L.C.A.export project S.p.A., can offer Chinese consumers the "made in Italy" quality of their products.
